HOW WE GLORIFY

Through the Word

At First Church, we celebrate God’s presence through the delivery of the written Word. All services center around the delivery of God’s Word to us and our lives are transformed through the messages that challenge us in our daily walk.

Through Music & Art

First Church gives worshipers many opportunities to express themselves spiritually through the art forms including music, liturgical dance, and the visual arts. Our Gallery Hall in the Wesley Center displays visual art throughout the year.

Through Baptism

In baptism we are initiated into the Christian church; we are incorporated into the community of God’s people; and we become the body of Christ. At First Church, God’s grace is available to all and one can never be too young or too old to receive it.

Through Communion

All Christians are welcome at our table, whatever their denomination. Holy Communion is a family meal, and all Christians are members of Christ’s family. When we receive communion at First Church, we join millions of brothers and sisters across the world.

Through Giving

When we think of worship, we usually think of how we respond to God. But true worship isn’t just about singing and praying, it’s also about trusting God. At First Church, we believe that God wants us to trust Him in all things past, present, and future. One way we demonstrate this trust to God is through giving faithfully. Whether a one-time donation or a recurring donation that occurs automatically on a regularly scheduled basis, your gift is always appreciated. If you call First Church your home, consider giving online through the link below. HOW WE CONNECT

First Church has a vital Stephen Ministries program. Stephen Ministers are members of the congregation trained by Stephen Leaders to offer high-quality, one-to-one Christian care to people going through tough times. A Stephen Minister usually provides care to one person at a time, meeting with that person once a week for about an hour. Those receiving care from the Stephen Ministers can be congregation members or others in the community. These are people struggling through a difficult time in life experiencing grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or some other life crisis.

HOW WE GROW

At First Church, we believe that growth is important. That’s why we offer multiple opportunities to study the Word and grow closer to God. Sunday School classes are offered for all ages each week from 9:55am-10:45am to learn, fellowship, and grow together. Groups and Bible studies are available throughout the week for those that want to dig even deeper. Click here to return to our purpose.

HOW WE GO

SERVING OUR CHURCH

Whether it’s making sure the audio and media for worship services run as smoothly as possible or greeting people as they walk in, First Church has many ways for you to be a part of delivering God’s message and serving others.

SERVING OUR CITY

Serving others is a huge part of First Church, but we also like to take the church outside the building. We are involved in projects with several local agencies and organizations, dedicated to making Frankfort a better place than we found it. Current projects include serving at the ACCESS Soup Kitchen, volunteering at the Franklin County Emergency Food Pantry, visiting inmates at the local jail, and helping children at the Kings Center.

SERVING OUR WORLD

First Church is proud to serve the city of Frankfort, but even prouder to serve the world around it. Our members are involved in several projects, including an annual Honduras Medical Mission trip and responses to United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM) opportunities, that go beyond our church and community to make an impact on the world at large. Click here to return to our purpose.
