What to Expect.
We're glad you're here.
Whether you're new to church, new to Frankfort, or simply curious about First UMC, here's a little of what you can expect when you walk through our doors.
Come As You Are
There's no perfect way to do church.
At First UMC, we want you to feel comfortable being yourself. You don't need to know all the words, understand every part of the service, or have everything figured out before you arrive. Just come as you are. We'll be glad you're here.
Your First Sunday
A few things to know.
Walking into a new church can feel like a big step. Here's what your morning might look like.

Find a seat.
We worship together in two different spaces and styles on Sunday mornings. Pick the service that feels right for you, find a seat, and settle in.

Participate as much as you want.
Sing, pray, listen, reflect, or simply take it all in. There's no pressure to have everything figured out. Take part in the ways that feel comfortable to you.

Stay for a while.
Meet someone, grab a cup of coffee, ask a question, or learn a little more about what's happening at First UMC during the week.
Worship
Two services. One community.
Our Sunday morning services offer different styles of worship, but both are centered on God's love and the life we share together.

Contemporary Worship
GNN is a more relaxed service with contemporary music, community, and a welcoming atmosphere for worship at the start of your Sunday.
11:00 a.m. · Sanctuary
Traditional Worship
Traditional Worship
Our traditional service tends to be more formal, with traditional hymns, scripture, prayer, pipe organ, instrumentalists, and our Chancel and handbell choirs.
What Should I Wear?
Whatever makes you comfortable.
Seriously. We mean it.
We don't judge here.
You'll find a mix of dress at First UMC. Some people wear blue jeans. Some wear a T-shirt. Some wear Sunday best. And everything in between is perfectly welcome.
Children
Children have a place here, too.
We warmly welcome children of all ages into our worship services. There are several options throughout the morning so families can find what works best for them.

Available for infants through pre-k throughout the entire morning.

The Prayground
Children can color, fidget, and soak in the worship service without having to sit still.
11:00 a.m. · Following Children's Time

A time for children to pray and explore the Bible story of the day in a relaxed, child-friendly environment.
